Eger’s 42-Point Effort Leads Chargers in Sophomore Night Win

GALESBURG — Addison Eger (Mendon, Ill./Unity) erupted for a career-high 42 points as the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team rolled to an 84-59 Sophomore Night victory over Illinois Valley on Friday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Eger finished 18 of 32 from the floor in a remarkable performance. The sophomore guard was 16 of 28 inside the arc, knocked down 2 of her 4 3-point tries and went 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. She also had five rebounds and three steals. Eger scored eight points in each of the first two quarters, racked up 14 in the third and hit both of her 3s in a 12-point fourth.

KEY MOMENT
With the Chargers (3-17 overall, 1-6 Arrowhead Conference) up 55-43 in the third, Eger hit three straight shots to kick off a 10-2 stretch to close out the period. She then opened the fourth with a pair of 3-pointers sandwiched around a steal-and-layup that gave Sandburg a 73-45 advantage.
